About

In 2016 we donated to the Kamitei Foundation (‘Kamitei’). Kamitei is founded in 2002 and has its focus on children in the poorest areas of Tanzania. It provides scholarships for talented students and it provides financial and operational support for primary schools in rural areas of Tanzania.

The foundation is named after the late Mrs. Maria Motika, whose Masai nick-name was ‘Kamitei’. Mrs. Motika did not receive any modern education herself, but worked hard and succeeded to provide good education to all of her children as well as a number of children of relatives. Today, all those children live a relatively prosperous life and two of them managed to obtain a university degree.

The mission of Kamitei is contributing to the creation of education opportunities for other children in East Africa trough scholarships, teacher training programs and community education improvement programs.
